1) POSITION OPENING: IT Consultant
The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ) is accepting bids for the position of IT Consultant, responsible for all aspects of FCCJ IT systems.

POSITION HOURS:
The position involves both onsite and remote work with support to be provided in the event of an emergency. Working hours are flexible but must provide cover for all aspects of the position. The position of consultant is not that of an FCCJ employee.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for all daily operations, maintenance, installation, support, security& back-up, recovery and development of the technology and data of the FCCJ. The consultant will ensure FCCJ technologies maintain an effective working order and system up time and reliability meet the needs of operations. The consultant will make recommendations to decrease costs and enhance member services and work with management and the ITPC committee to plan best practice and move the FCCJ forward as technologies develop. The consultant will keep an updated inventory of hardware and software, system flowcharts, support contracts, software licenses, and ensure legal compliance. The consultant will provide IT capital expenditure planning and operating budget support. The Consultant will attend ITPC committee meetings and train designated staff in resolving day-to-day problems. When on site the consultant will assist FCCJ members as necessary in basic computing functions and in areas related to FCCJ systems.

3. Client PC Maintenance (WindowsNT, 2000, XP, Vista and MAC OSX)

5. Staff training
6. Website Maintenance & Development
7. Member support

ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE
The consultant will interact largely with staff and must have the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in Japanese, and also with members in both English and Japanese. A background and understanding of club, restaurant, or hospitality business and the application of Information Technology to that business is desirable.

2) POSITION OPENING: Server
Compensation: 950 yen per hour. Transportation from student’s home or school to the Press Club and return will be paid. (Fixed cost maximum.)

Dates: Minimum 3 days per week
Time: Weekdays 18:00-23:00, Saturday, Sunday and National holidays 17:00-22:00

Work Place: The Foreign Correspondents’Club of Japan, Yurakucho Denki Bldg., 20th floor

Qualifications: Conversational English/Japanese skills and proper visa essential
