Dakota Dave Hull
Classic American Guitar
Hailed in America as one of the best guitarists on the scene today, Minneapolis-based Dakota Dave Hull is bringing his music from the Midwest to the Far East, and making a special appearance for one night only at the FCCJ's Saturday Night Live. Dave's guitar style spans a wide musical geography to create an infectious, uniquely personal blend of jazz, ragtime, folk, blues, Western swing, and vintage pop. Dakota Dave is a restlessly curious, adventurous traveler along the broad highway of America’s music. In his playing the masters speak, but in a vocabulary that is Dave’s alone: alternatively mirthful and moving, always melodic. On stage or in the studio Dave has performed and recorded with a who's who of American folk and traditional music and has a long and growing list of acclaimed CDs.
A gifted composer as well as a strikingly original interpreter of older tunes, Dakota Dave calls what he does “classic American guitar.” And he comes highly recommended by SNL all-time favorite Steve Gardner, who says, "I know that Dave will give you an evening to long be remembered."
It may the only chance you'll ever have to hear Dakota Dave Hull perform in Yurakucho! So don't miss it. For more about the man and his music, check out his website at www.dakotadavehull.com, and be sure to search for the rare Harpo Marx quote!
And, as always, it's FREE. No music charge, no cover. For a great and economical Saturday night out, come on down to the FCCJ and give a listen to Dakota Dave Hull.
