Join us on Saturday April 26 for the next in our popular series of 'Saturday lunch with Shakespeare', when the featured play is 'The Comedy of Errors'.
The play tells the story of two sets of identical twins that were accidentally separated at birth.
It is the Bard's shortest play and one of his most farcical comedies, with a major part of the humour coming from slapstick and mistaken identity, in addition to puns and word play
Our guest lecturer is American actor/teacher Walter Roberts, currently teaching acting at Temple University's Japan Campus.
A graduate in theater from the renowned Goodman School of Drama of Chicago, USA, Walter has played in Shakespearean roles in the National Shakespeare Company in New York and also in Japan. He is well-known in the acting community in Japan and has appeared in many popular Japanese movies and TV productions, including the successful 'Nodame Cantabile'.
Again, we are using the resources of the BBC TV Shakespeare series and this production includes Cyril Cusack as Aegeon and Charles Grey as Solinus, Duke of Ephesus. A surprising cast member is Roger Daltrey, vocalist with the rock group 'The Who', who plays the Dromios twins.
As is customary, our chef will prepare a delicious luncheon menu, based on the play.
Tickets, including lunch, are 2,000 yen per person and a cash bar is available. Cancellations after 6 p.m. Monday, April 21, will be charged in full.
Doors open 11:45 and lunch will be served from 12:00.
The play will start from 12:45 after Walter Roberts' introduction.
Please make reservations online or through the Front Desk (Tel. 03 3211 3161)
