Will the Japanese Courts Protect the Dolphins of Taiji?
Ric O’Barry
Marine Mammal Specialist, Earth Island Institute
Sarah Lucas
CEO of Australia for Dolphins
Language: The speech and Q&A will be in English with simultaneous interpretation.

Ric O'Barry, renowned advocate for the protection of dolphins worldwide and star of the Academy-award winning documentary, 'The Cove', together with Sarah Lucas, founder and CEO of Australia for Dolphins, will be in Tokyo to jointly announce a lawsuit being filed for the protection of dolphins in Taiji.

The two organizations have been actively calling for the suspension of dolphin hunts in Taiji, Wakayama Prefecture. For many years the subject of intense criticism and actions by conservationists, the topic has become one of increasing pressures on Japan in recent years, particularly since the release of 'The Cove', which graphically documented the annual culling season of the marine mammals in Taiji.

Please reserve in advance, 3211-3161 or on the website (still & TV cameras inclusive). Reservations and cancellations are not complete without confirmation.
