A rock band with WHO? The Gi!nz Band is a four-man band made up entirely of Giin, lawmakers of the National Diet of Japan.

The leader of the band is Yoshimasa Hayashi who recently stepped down as Minister of Agriculture. He was formerly a Minister of Defense, and was one of the six candidates for the presidency of the Liberal Democratic Party in late 2012. That race was won, of course, by Mr. Hayashi's party colleague from Yamaguchi Prefecture, Shinzo Abe.

The other members are Yasukazu Hamada, another former Minister of Defense, Masaji Matsuyama, third-term Councillor from Fukuoka Prefecture, and Hachiro Okonogi, a six-term Representative from Kanagawa Prefecture.

Come and watch the Gi!nz Band's unprecedented rock'n roll performance for foreign journalists and other members of the FCCJ!

Tickets for the event will be 7,000 yen per person, and this includes both tax and a fine dinner. As in all Gi!nz Band performances, an appeal will be made for charity, in this case for the families of the victims of the Mt. Ontake eruption.

This event is hosted by the FCCJ's Membership Marketing Committee. Please reserve in advance, 03-3211-3161, or on the website (still & TV cameras inclusive). Kindly note reservations cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged in full.
