The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan is pleased to welcome Sawanotsuru to our club. Sawanotsuru has been brewing great sake in Nishigo since 1717. Since their establishment 290 years ago, Sawanotsuru has embraced the tradition and culture of the Nada style of brewing and has remained devoted to improving quality and developing innovative, new techniques, conducting careful research into combinations of Japanese Sake and cuisine and teaching the Japanese Sake culture to the people of Japan and around the world.
This special event is being sponsored by Sawanotsuru, and is being offered free of charge to our members. Be sure to sign up early to join us for this fun and interesting evening. And find out why they won the Prestige Award at the 45th Monde Selection in 2006.

沢の鶴が灘五郷の一つ西郷の地に創業したのは享保2年(1717年)、明治31年(1898年)には醸造石高の増加を受けて合資会社に、さらに大 正8年(1919年)には株式会社へと改組。
そして今、創業以来290有余年にわたり連綿と芳醇な美酒を醸し続ける沢の鶴は、酒どころ灘を代表する銘酒として日本中にその名を轟かせています。
「政策にほんろうされた日本酒の過去」、「国酒・日本酒のこれから」などを社長西村 隆治氏(14代目)の講演と質疑応答、さらに純米大吟醸「瑞兆」など4種類のお酒の試飲とお酒に合わせたお料理をお楽しみください。
