Pops, Jazz, and R & B

A LosAngeles native now based in Tokyo, David Chester is an accomplished writer/producer/composer whose creative efforts richly reflect his bicultural experience. His talents as a pianist, singer and accompanist originally brought him to Tokyo in 1993. Since then he has performed in every major Japanese city, on Japanese TV programs, and at almost every top hotel and club in Tokyo. He has also written the music, lyrics or arrangements for more than 80 originals and English-language versions of J-pop hits, including those recorded by Grammy-winning artists Richard Marx, Roberta Flack and Deniece Williams.

David will be joined by vocalist Esther Thirimu, a Kenyan singer-songwriter who now calls Tokyo her home. Owing to her roots in gospel, R&B, jazz, soul and rock, Esther’s vocal prowess is evident no matter where she performs throughout Japan, whether it be five-star hotels, concert halls or music festivals, entertaining crowds in English, Japanese and Swahili. Esther, also known as “Swinky,” has been featured on a number of popular Japanese TV shows in Japan, including Nodojiman the World and Monomane Grand Prix, and has provided back up vocals for major international artists, such as Mariah Carey. Her debut EP Chrysalis will be released December 2015.

And, as always, it's FREE. Come and enjoy some of the best live entertainment in Tokyo!
