We are pleased to announce our next presentation, the comedy

October 13, 2018
Much Ado About Nothing is regarded as one of Shakespeare’s best comedies.
The BBC version, directed by Stuart Burge, features Cherie Lunghi as Beatrice, Katharine Levy as Hero, Robert Lindsay as Benedict and Robert Reynolds as Claudio. The part of Dogberry, one of Shakespeare’s favourite comic characters, is played by Michael Elphick.

Benedick and Beatrice are tricked into confessing their love for each other, and Claudio is tricked into rejecting Hero at the altar on the erroneous belief that she has been unfaithful. It all ends happily, as you might expect.
Giving his insights into this play is Paul Snowden, one of our regular contributors to this programme. A Master of Arts graduate of King’s College Cambridge, Snowden has had a distinguished academic career in Japan. Now semi-retired, he was vice-president of Kyorin University and is a professor emeritus of Waseda University, where he was Dean of the  School of International Liberal Studies.

Tickets including lunch are 2,000 Yen per person. A cash bar is available. Cancellations after 6 p.m. Monday, October 8th, will be charged in full. Please make reservations through the Front Desk (03-3211-3161). Doors open and cocktails at 11:45. Lunch is from 12:00. The play, with a short intermission for coffee and dessert, will end at approximately 4.30 p.m.
