Journalism and Justice: Legal Reporting in Japan

Saunders will train journalists to report on the Japanese judicial system; compare it to the American system; and introduce strategies for covering corporate scandals. The seminar will also look at potential legal hazards for journalists and effective reporting techniques in the context of libel laws.

Journalists have the important job of informing the public about the judicial system and any problems it has meting out justice. As the Carlos Ghosn story unfolds, this seminar is not to be missed.

Saunders is the Director of Temple University Law School, Japan Campus and an Associate Professor of Instruction in Law. She is an experienced commercial litigator, and teaches Torts and Civil Procedure at Temple Law Japan.
