Hagi Night

The City of Hagi is located in Yamaguchi prefecture at the westernmost point of Honshu. It is home to five UNESCO World Heritage sites and joined the Japan National Geopark network in 2018.

Hagi Night is your chance to get to know the real Hagi. The Mayor of Hagi Kenji Fujimichi himself will introduce you to the amazing food, drink and culture Hagi has to offer. Sample delicious local food and while you're at it pair it with one of the local brews Hagi Night will also be a chance to discover some of Hagi's beloved traditional folk handicrafts. One of the local ceramic artists will be giving a live demonstration of Hagi pottery throwing, and guests can also try their hand at Hagi doll making.

Kenran Beef: Kenran beef is a crossbreed of cattle indigenous to Mishima in Hagi, and Holstein cows from the Netherlands. Mishima cows have been designated a Natural Monument. The meat is soft and marbled in appearance, with a rich flavor and scent.
Choshu Wagyu Beef: A Japanese Black wagyu raised on a diet of rice straw. The rice straw is produced from a locally sustainable agricultural initiative.
Mutsumi Pork: Reared in a stress-free environment, Mutsumi pigs are mainly fed dried breadcrumbs which remove the odor from the meat. Juicy and sweet, Mutsumi pork will melt in your mouth.
Red Tilefish: Caught from local fishing areas, careful handling post-haul makes the red tilefish a fresh and delicious fish.
