"Will Abenomics Alter the World Economic Map?"
President, Japan Center for Economic Research
Language: The Speech and Q&A will be in English
The Japan Center for Economic Research, the think tank led by former Bank of Japan deputy governor Kazumasa Iwata, has released its "World Economic Map in 2050" last year. It predicts a slowing Chinese economy and a Japan which remains a "first-tier nation" through that time. But it also warns that the country needs drastic measures to stem its population decline to maintain this status.
Iwata, who is also a member of the Council of National Strategy and Policy, established during the Noda administration, will explain the findings and also discuss how Abenomics will affect the outcome in the coming years. Come and hear about the big picture from a top economic policy expert.
