Language: The speech and Q & A will be in English

Alexandra Chan, the Project Officer of Students & Scholars Against Corporate Misbehaviour (SACOM), will talk about the investigation on the working conditions at UNIQLO's China suppliers and the cross-regional campaign against labor exploitation in the fast fashion industry.

SACOM, which conducted the research in cooperation with Japan's Human Rights Now and Labour Action China, has been monitoring multinational corporations and their misconduct since 2005. The Hong Kong-based group has also revealed excess working hours and unsafe working conditions at China’s Foxconn, a manufacturer of Apple products, which allegedly drove many workers to suicide.

The non-profit organization launched the "iSlave" campaign against the corporate titan to raise public awareness.

Please reserve in advance, 3211-3161 or on the website (still & TV cameras inclusive). Reservations and cancellations are not complete without confirmation.
