"Current Situation in North Korea"
Jiro Ishimaru
Chief Editor of AsiaPress, Osaka
Language: The speech and Q & A will be in Japanese with English interpretation.

Perhaps the greatest challenge in covering or analyzing North Korea is the relative lack of substantiated information about its affairs. We now have a speaker coming to the FCCJ who has done yeoman's work in pulling back the curtains from the Hermit Kingdom of East Asia.

Jiro Ishimaru is a journalist who has been working since 2002 to understand the true conditions of North Korea. He has done this mainly through direct interviews with North Koreans. The number of these interviews is now approaching one thousand.

For anyone with even a cursory interest in North Korea, this is a must-see event.
Jiro Ishimaru was born in Osaka in 1962 and has made almost a hundred visits to the China-North Korea border in connection with this deep coverage of the issue.

Please reserve in advance, 3211-3161 or on the website (still & TV cameras inclusive). Reservations and cancellations are not complete without confirmation.
