Encyclopedia of the "1F"; A Guide to the Decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station

Language: The speech and Q&A will be in Japanese with English interpretation.

The Encyclopedia of 1F aims to promote information disclosure and citizen participation.

Published by the Independent Investigation laboratory Project on the Decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, the book contains research by experts on Fukushima Daiichi, including Hiroshi Kainuma, associate professor of Ritsumeikan University, Akihiro Yoshikawa, who worked at the plant for more than 10 years, and Kazuto Tatsuta, a manga artist who worked at the plant after the March 2011 disaster.

The authors want to challenge stereotypical views of Fukushima Daiichi as little more than atomic reactors strewn with debris and rows of tanks containing polluted water. They will present a fact-based appraisal of the situation at the plant, including conditions for workers and efforts by local people to return to their evacuated hometowns.

The authors of 1F will present their findings regarding the rapidly changing situation at Fukushima Daiichi and discuss the way forward for decommissioning the plant and reviving the surrounding area.

Please reserve in advance, 3211-3161 or on the website (still & TV cameras inclusive). Reservations and cancellations are not complete without confirmation.
