Frank Devine was FCCJ president from 1966/67. During his presidency he oversaw a major expansion and renovation of Club premises and was a determined opponent of restrictions imposed by officialdom and the kisha club system. He passed away on July 3.

Roy Garner joined the FCCJ as a Regular member in 1982 and was a stalwart member of the Movie Committee. The welcome "voice-behind-the news" for years, he was a radio & newspaper correspondent, photographer and author. He passed away on Oct. 14.

Vivienne Kenrick joined the FCCJ as a Professional Associate member in 1981, and was last year awarded Life membership. An author and area editor of Fodor's Guide to Japan, she is probably best remembered for her Japan Times column "Personality Profile." She passed away on Nov. 1.

William Miller joined the FCCJ as an Associate member in 1979, later becoming a Professional Associate member. He was a noted publisher in London before beginning a second career as a literary agent in Tokyo, his advice was thus often sought by members. He passed away on Nov. 5.

Sam Noda, a relatively new Associate member of the FCCJ, spent most of his career in management at Itochu Corp. Later he joined JETRO, and as a senior trade advisor in Wisconsin specialized in working with high tech firms. He passed away on Sep. 24.

Kaoru Ogimi joined the FCCJ as an Associate member more than 40 years ago. A former executive with Seibu and Reader's Digest, he was deeply involved with ocean sailing on all levels and was the winner of several open-water yacht races. He passed away on Sep. 18.

Albert Stamp was FCCJ General Manager from 1988 to 1996. Prior to this he had worked for Kikkoman Corp., helping it move into the wine business and together opening two restaurants in Roppongi. Mr. Stamp's Wine Garden still exists to this day. He passed away on Nov. 10.

Shinichi Suzuki joined the FCCJ as an Associate member in 1985. A former executive with Kikkoman Corp., he spent 10 years with Kikkoman International in the U.S., expanding soy sauce markets globally. He later formed his own company, Shinen Enterprise. He passed away on Sep. 1.
