Description:

On May 26, the assistant secretary in charge of advising officials including U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson on international economic policy will speak at the FCCJ. Clay Lowery will comment on lessons learned from recent financial market turbulence.

Lowery, who supports the U.S. Under Secretary for International Affairs, specializes in policy including debt strategy and coordination with international financial institutions. Before his role as Assistant Secretary, Lowery was Vice President of Markets and Sector Assessments at the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a government company that provides foreign aid.

Lowery has also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Debt and Development Finance at the U.S. Treasury, where he helped craft responses to financial crises in Asia and Mexico.
