Summary:

Ran Oshiro
Jazz

Description:

Presenting...a member of the FCCJ staff!

Lunchtime visitors to the FCCJ might recognize that pretty face and sweet smile.

Ran Oshiro hails from Okinawa. As a teenager, she listened to Jazz, which had a lasting effect and inspired her to be a Jazz singer. At the age of 20 she moved to Tokyo and started to sing at live show houses. She spent four months in 2007 studying vocals in New York.

She sings many pop and standard Jazz songs, often with a rock spirit, and attracts audiences with her unique, silky voice as well as her beauty. Ran is often praised as "Japanese version of Norah Jones." She packs live clubs and lounges on the days she sings.

Since September 2007 Ran has worked in the Main Bar of the FCCJ during the day and performs at live houses in the evening. Much in demand in Tokyo, her shows are booked months in advance.

Come and hear the FCCJ's own Ran Oshiro sing a suite of sultry, sweet songs.
