Description:The winner of the Japan Prize this year are Drs. David Kuhl and Dennis Meadows. These renowned scientists will come to the FCCJ on April 22. Both men are recipients of prizes worth 50 million yen for their contributions to the peace and prosperity of mankind.
Kuhl is a pioneer in medical diagnosis using brain scanners. He has advanced a new branch of medicine -- going far beyond today's CTs and MRIs.
Meadows headed an MIT team that authored "The Limits to Growth", a controversial book that has sold tens of millions of copies in 38 languages. He says the planet has finite resources, however our world's exploding population is using them up. Meadows favors sustainable growth, to forestall a global crisis.
