Will the global economy start recovering later this year, as widely predicted by governments and central banks of the major nations? Or is the current optimism unfounded and the worst is yet to come? Alan Oster, group chief economist at National Australia Bank, will answer these questions and offer his outlook for the dollar and other major currencies.

Oster is a long-time economic and monetary policy forecaster. Before joining the bank in 1992, he worked for the Australian Federal Treasury for 15 years. In 1987 he was seconded for nearly four years as Counsellor-Economic and Financial with Australia's delegation to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris.
