Lan Oshiro Jazz Night
Description:
The FCCJ's very own LAN is from Okinawa. Listening to Jazz in her teens shocked her and inspired her to be a Jazz singer. She moved to Tokyo at the age of 23 and started to sing at live show houses. In May 2007, she moved to New York to study vocals there, but had to come back in September due her father's passing. In order to maintain her English speaking skill obtained in the U.S., she started to work at the Foreign Correspondent Club of Japan where she has a lot of opportunities to speak English. She keeps performing her songs at live houses most evenings.
She attracts audiences by her unique, silky voice and has been praised as having a similar style to that of Norah Jones, and even more beautiful. Lan's debut album was released last June. She sings many tunes including Pop and standard Jazz with a rock spirit that makes her an idol of the "choi-waru oyaji" by grabbing their hearts. Live clubs and lounges tend to be full on the day she sings. Her FCCJ show time schedule has only been secured through a considerable struggle. Ran's performance will take place in our Dining Room which will be remade into a soothing, sultry, romantic Jazz Club themed venue.
