Description:Gerald L. Curtis, professor of political science at Columbia University and visiting professor at Waseda University, is widely known as a leading authority on Japanese politics.
Curtis has followed the Japanese political landscape for many years, writing numerous books and analytical pieces, including such books as "Election Campaigning Japanese Style", "The Way of Japanese Politics", "The Logic of Japanese Politics" and "Policymaking in Japan".
His latest book "Seiji to Sanma -- Nihon to Kurashite 45 Nen (Politics and Sanma: 45 Years Living with Japan)," is a tribute to Japan and its people, which have helped shape his life as a top analyst of Japanese politics.
Curtis is coming to the Club immediately after the historic general elections to explain why Japan is finally becoming a normal country and the election's implications for Asia and the world at large.
