Description:

The issue of U.S. bases in Okinawa is growing hotter as the first visit by U.S. President Barack Obama to Japan approaches. Following the "Prefectural Residents' Meeting to Oppose Construction of New U.S. Base in Henoko and Relocation within Okinawa Prefecture," which attracted over 20,000 people in Naha last Sunday, and immediately prior to the visit by President Obama, representatives of the organizing committee of the meeting are coming to Tokyo to convey the resolution adopted at the meeting to Prime Minister Hatoyama and other members of the Japanese Government, as well as U.S. Embassy officials.

The group includes the Mayors of Naha and Ginowan. Don't miss this very timely chance to hear the voice of the Okinawa people and their elected representatives on this crucial issue. Ryoichi Hattori, Member of the House of Representatives, Social Democratic Party, will join this press conference.
