The political buzzword of 2009 was undoubtedly "change," as Barack Obama became the first African-American president of the United States and the Democratic Party of Japan ended the Liberal Democrats' long grip on power.

But in her new book "Change Maker," best-selling author and business guru Kazuyo Katsuma wants Japan to know that you don't need wealth or power to make a difference. Anyone can create change.

Katsuma herself has proven as much through her own life.

At 19, she became the youngest person to obtain a second-stage accounting certification and began working at an accounting firm while she was still a student. Her professional resume includes stints at Arthur Andersen, McKinsey and JP Morgan before she struck out on her own.

The charismatic mother of three has since transformed herself into one of Japan's most well-known business personalities. The Wall Street Journal named her to its "Top 50 Women to Watch" list in 2005, and she is the youngest-ever recipient of Avon's Woman of the Year Award. Her legions of devoted fans call themselves "Katsumaa" and follow her every advice on career, work and family. She currently serves as a member of the Cabinet Office's General Equality Bureau Planning Committee.
