FCCJ Trivia Night for Charity
Saturday, April 27, 2024, 18:30 - 20:30 (doors open 18:00)

There are still a few places left at this very popular event with diverse questions, attractive raffle prizes, and special menu.

The FCCJ Trivia Night for Charity will be hosted by award-winning crime writer Jake Adelstein and Kelly Agee, a dynamic reporter for Stars and Stripes based at Yokota Air Base and well known in Tokyo trivia circles. They have diligently composed a variety of esoteric, challenging, trick and easy questions on various themes such as Japan, music, media, tech, history, sports and more which are safely locked away until the quiz starts.

And due to popular demand, we will feature a limited number of "Hanif's Special Lamb Kofta with Yoghurt Sauce" and a sneak pre-release of "Simon's British-style Fish 'n' Chips with Home-made Tartar Sauce," as well as our regular mouth-watering menu of classic and innovative starters, mains and desserts.

All members and non-members are invited to join or create teams and compete to win FCCJ-branded polo shirts or t-shirts that will be awarded to the winning team, and to buy tickets for a chance of winning one of these or other generously donated prizes in our charity raffle:

  • Bespoke jacket, trousers and shirts valued at about 180,000 yen, hand-made by Euro Merican Fashions
  • 12 tickets to award-winning team Lab Borderless at Azabudai Hills and Mori Art Museum
  • Two 2,500 yen vouchers for Swan & Lion's spectacular new café-dining bar opening soon in Nakameguro
  • Three bottles of Peruvian "Fire Water" White Brandy
  • Best-selling book signed by author Jake Adelstein
  • Malvern College Tokyo cute teddy bear mascots
  • Cape Cellar's award-winning Carmen Stevens Carmenere 2019 South African red wine with serial number and CSR credentials, retail price 8,500 yen

Participants pay just 500 yen to enter and can buy raffle tickets for 500 yen each or three for 1,000 yen, with all proceeds going to charity. You can come as a team (maximum 5 people) or join one when you get to the Club. Guests are welcome, as long as they come with an FCCJ member.

Will the associates beat the veteran journalists? Or could a team of students or diplomats give them all a good hiding?
