At the Associate Members Liaison Committee meeting in May, members learned about the dispute that had arisen between the union representing members of staff and the General Manager. Concerned that the situation should not worsen, the AMLC offered the services of an individual Associate member with appropriate experience to try to assist the Board in resolving this issue. This member was involved in a meeting with all parties. Another Associate member with relevant expertise was recommended to assist the Finance Committee and had an initial meeting with the Treasurer to discuss how his experience could be useful.

At the June meeting, further reports were received on the situation concerning the dispute between the staff members and the General Manager, and the Committee passed a resolution calling on the new Board to ensure that the Human Resources Committee be strengthened and enlarged, drawing particularly on the expertise and experience of Associate members in order to improve the situation.

The AMLC also heard a report on the Club’s financial situation. Having requested information on whether cost-cutting on the production of No. 1 Shimbun was possible, they learned that in fact considerable cost-saving has been achieved – to the tune of around ¥1.5 million a year. A rival bid for publishing and printing was obtained and the existing publisher met the reduced price. The AMLC expressed concern that members are still being charged the ¥400 publication fee and hoped that this will be reduced or abolished in view of the cost-savings.

The AMLC expressed its strong wish for Associates to be more actively involved in the running of the Club in order to contribute to the strengthening and long-term survival of the FCCJ and requested the new Board to positively consider a greater role for Associates.

アソシエイトリエゾン委員会からの報告
5月に行なわれたアソシエイトリエゾン委員会でFCC従業員と総支配人との争議が話し合われました。　この事態が悪化しないことを願うと共に当委員会としてなにができるかということを考えた結果、長い経験に基づいた知識を駆使し役員会などに協力できる委員会メンバーを紹介することもそのひとつということになり２人の名を役員会に推薦いたしました。　この１人のメンバーからすでに一度会議に出席したという報告を受けました。
もう一人役員会に名前を提示された方はアソシエイトリエゾン委員会のなかで、財務経験３５年以上という経験を活かし財務担当の委員会に何か役立つことが出来る可能性を占めている方です。　こちらも今後の可能性について既に話を進めているという報告を財務担当の委員長から受けております。
６月の委員会において、総支配人と従業員との争議に関するより一層細かな報告を受け、当委員会としてはこれから選出される新しい役員会に対し、ぜひとも人事担当委員会の拡大強化への配慮をはかり、また状況改善を目指して経験のあるアソシエイトメンバーの人事委員会への起用を提案することにいたしました。
財務委員長による下期財務状況の報告とは別に、以前から出ていたナンバーワン新聞の印刷のコストダウンに対する質問についてパブリケーション委員会の委員長から書面にて回答がありました。　現在は年間約１５０万円の経費節約をあげることが出来ているとの報告でした。　いくつかの印刷業者との相見積もりなどをした結果現在の印刷会社に委託する旨決まったそうですが、ここで当委員会は経費の節約が達成できたにもかかわらず未だに以前引き上げられた４００円という金額を支払っていることに対し懸念を示し、いつかは値下げされるべき或いは料金そのものが廃止されることを期待する内容を役員会に伝える決議案が出されました。
アソシエイリエゾン委員会はFCCJ当クラブが増強された息の長いクラブとして活躍していくために、アソシエイト会員がよりクラブの運営に側面からでも関われるよう強く望むものであり、また新役員会に対してもアソシエイト会員の今まで以上に大きな役割を考えていただけるよう望むものであります。
