"Minna no To" (Your Party) might be the newest party in Japanese politics but its members hardly lack experience.

It's led by Yoshimi Watanabe, who quit Taro Aso's cabinet in January after becoming disenchanted with Aso's policies, and also includes Keiichiro Asao, who was kicked out of the DPJ in July when he disclosed plans to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming election.

Both are outspoken and their message of change may resonate with some voters but could such a small party have any influence? At its launch over the weekend Watanabe said the party wouldn't be working with the LDP following the upcoming election and was "eyeing cooperation with the Democratic Party of Japan."

On Thursday Watanabe and Asao will be at the FCCJ to speak on the new party, the upcoming election and their hopes for Japan. Be sure to join us.
