Kaz Minamizawa

Lauded as "one of the best blues guitar players in Japan," Kaz Minamizawa sounds like he is from the Deep South, even though he is Japanese. He's been pickin' and singin' the blues since his teens and spent a considerable amount of time in the States honing his technique. In the late 1980s, Kaz's unique R&B group, "Drivin' Wheels," toured the States, even playing at the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem.

This time Kaz is bringing two friends to the club. Up-and-coming harmonica player Natsuki Kurai and Yoshitaka Yamamoto on bass. Fight off those post-Christmas blues with some rockin' blues music.

This week the club's Sushi Bar is magically transformed into the legendary Shimbun Alley Bar (unfortunately for the last time) for those who prefer a quiet, cozy atmosphere that still provides the FCCJ's friendly service and great food and drink.
