Masami Hattori and Jun Kamimura, SAMBA!

If you can't make it to Rio next week for Carnaval, the FCCJ is bringing a bit of Carnaval to you. Two of Japan's top samba musicians will headline this week's Saturday Night Live CARNAVAL EDITION.
Percussionist, vocalist, lyricist and music producer Masami Hattori is considered Japan’s top samba drummer. Jun Kamimura is a guitarist, composer and arranger who has backed such noted Japanese performers as enka singer Sayuri Ishikawa and J-pop star Hekiru Shiina. He contributes to “Rhythm Tanteidan" (Rhythm Detectives), a music program for children that has been running for over twenty years. In recent years he has teamed with Hattori to explore Brazilian music. It will be as close to Rio as you can get without a passport.
