The Entertainment Committee presents "The Music of Silk Road and restored Ancient Musical
Instruments of SHOSOIN Imperial Treasure House Series" on Tuesday, March 30, 2010.

Musician
Liu Hongjun
Musician. Supervisor of the Restoration Project of Musical Instruments in the Shosoin Imperial Treasure House and Music Director of "Tempyo Gakufu" orchestra. Born in Dalian, China and graduated from Shenyang Music Academy. Performed as a flute player in major orchestras in China, and in 1980 came to Japan to start the new phase of his music career. Since then active in performing and composing music as well as researching on the rare ancient musical documents of China and other countries in Asia. Composed, directed and performed in numerous TV programs such as the Silk Road Series. He was invited to compose and perform for the film "The Last Emperor" and other historical and cultural events. He has been awarded for his contribution for restoring ancient musical instruments in the Shosoin Imperial Treasure House of Japan and received numerous awards including 24th Pola Award for Traditional Culture in 2006 among others.
