Description:
HIDE-HIDE consists of Hideki Ishigaki, Shakuhachi (bamboo flute) and Hideki Onoue, Shamisen. The pair grew up in a world of Japanese traditional music and perform a wonderfully expressive, cultivated music, bringing a fresh perception to Japanese traditional instruments.

Their second album, "Nostalgia" (Aug. 2009 release), was the first-ever released in Japan and Russia simultaneously. The album pursues the fine tone that is only found in the Shakuhachi and Shamisen and shows a new dimension in HIDE-HIDE’s range of expression.

HIDE-HIDE participated in the first international "Terem Crossover Competition" for acoustic musical instruments, held in St. Petersburg, Russia in March, 2010. Together with pianist Shuhei Kamimura, who arranged all the music of their second album, they won first prize. Their emotional, dramatic performance received high acclaim in Russia.

SHUHEI KAMIMURA is a composer, arranger and pianist. Born in 1979 in Shizuoka, Japan, he started playing the piano at the age of five and graduated from Tokyo College of Music in 2003. His creations are manifold and are found in film, animation, on stage and in albums. He is one of the most famous composers in Japan.
