"Elisabeth", the most successful Viennese-German musical with music by Sylvester
Levay and Lyrics by Michael Kunze will be presented again in Tokyo. It portrays the life and death of the Empress consort of Austria, Elisabeth of Bavaria, wife of Emperor Franz Joseph I. The show was first presented in Vienna in 1992 and in Tokyo in 1996.
Kanji Ishimaru plays the role of Death, a dashing handsome lover of Elisabeth and Hikaru Asami, Elizabeth, Empress of Austria and Hungary on September 23 performance.

"Elisabeth" won the best historical musical title of Nikkei Shimbun ranking in May. Special seats usually cost 13,000 yen per person, however FCCJ members may purchase S seats with Chef Paul Dodd’s buffet brunch accompanied with a glass of Champaign for only 14,000 yen.

ウイーン発ミュージカルの起爆剤となったミヒャエル・クンツエ(脚本・歌詞)シルヴェスター・リーヴァイ(音楽)の「エリザべート」は１９世紀末、崩壊に向かうオーストリア―ハンガリー帝国を生きた皇妃エリザベートの数奇な運命と彼女に魅入られた黄泉の国の帝王トート、皇帝、皇太子ルドルフを交えて激動の時代を耽美な死生観と美意識で描きます。
