The Anna Mackie Group presents original interpretations of jazz and R&B standards. UK born Anna has been a singer since childhood, beginning in classical music and moving through various genres before settling in jazz. Among her influences she lists Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald & Ray Charles. Since 2001 her main accompanist has been pianist Mieko Yagi, who was also classically trained but turned to jazz. Anna and Mieko released the CD "Full House" in 2006, a collection of 13 classic jazz numbers including "Almost Like Being in Love," "Nice Work if You Can Get It," & "Bye Bye Blackbird." Joining them on electric bass is U.S.-born Daniel Eck, a composer and performer and leader of the Daniel Eck Trio. For more info, check Anna's web page at http://www.annamackie.com.
