Speaker's profile:
Ms. Natsuko Shiraki is a front-runner in Japanese social business and an advocate for "ethical fashion". Having studied development issues, her career started as an intern at the United Nations Population Fund Hanoi Office and the Asian Development Bank Institute. She also gained practical management skills at an investment fund in Tokyo.

April 2009 marked the establishment of her own enterprise, HASUNA Co. Ltd., which sets itself apart from other jewelry companies with respect to the utmost attention to environment and labor conditions around the supply chain of gemstones. Her unique approach and initiatives have been widely covered in publications and broadcasts, winning her the title "opinion leader in ethical fashion."

For having translated her long-time concern about poverty issues into a business that serves international justice to the jewelry industry, Natsuko won the Nikkei Woman of the Year Award 2011 and Japan Venture Awards 2012. She was also elected one of the 2012 World Economic Forum's Global Shapers.

Natsuko earned a BA in Development Geography from King's College, University of London.
