Sake Tasting & Sales Event

On December 4, 2024, UNESCO registered the traditional knowledge and skills of sake making in Japan as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. Sakura Sake Shop, which exports sake to more than 20 countries around the world, is holding its second sake tasting and sales event at the club on February 19 with a focus on handmade sake brewed by small sake breweries. With twenty varieties of highly regarded and rare sake from around the country available, you can enjoy a wide variety, including freshly pressed, heated, doburoku, and premium sake, and even gin made by sake brewers! All of which are unique to this time of year and there is something special for every palate! A sneak preview of bottles available for tasting and purchase:

  • MUTSU HASSEN Dry Sparkling 2023 (7,600 yen): This sparkling Japanese sake, certified by the AWA Sake Association, is made using the same equipment and methods as champagne, and has an elegant, dry taste.
  • ZAKU Junmai Daiginjo NOUVEAU (2,700 yen): This is a very popular freshly squeezed new sake from a sake brewery that was chosen as the toast to the G7 Summit and was also the world's best.
  • UGONOTSUKI Junmai Daiginjo “Ray” (36,000 yen): This sake is made from Yamada-Nishiki, the king of sake rice, polished to 7%, and the refined scrutiny and deep aftertaste that can only be found in ultra-high-polished sake will take you to an unknown world.
  • HAPPY DOBUROKU Hamidashi-mai (2,200 yen): Craft doburoku brewed by a Kyoto University graduate, brewing ‘one step short of sake’ with ‘hamidashi rice’, which is fertiliser- and pesticide-free rice but is rejected as out of specification.

Tickets are 2,200 yen per person including tax, members and their guests are welcome.

その技術の結晶である日本酒を世界20か国以上へ輸出する日本酒専門店「さくら酒店」が、第2回目の日本酒試飲即売会を開催いたします。

小さな酒蔵が醸す手造りの日本酒を中心に、国内外で評価の高い希少なお酒を全国より20種類取り寄せます。
この時期ならではの搾りたての新酒やお燗酒、どぶろく、プレミアム酒、はたまた日本酒蔵が造るジンなど、多彩なお酒をお楽しみ下さい。

  • 陸奥八仙 DRY SPARKLING 2023 (7,600 円): シャンパンと同じ機材と製法で造ったawa酒協会認定のスパークリング日本酒でエレガントでありドライな味わいの1本です。
  • 純米大吟醸 新酒 (2,700円): G7サミットの乾杯酒に選ばれ、世界一にも輝いた酒蔵で大人気のしぼりたて新酒です。
  • 雨後の月 䨩「RAY」純米大吟醸 (36,000 円): 酒米の王様「山田錦」を7%まで精米し、超高精白酒にしかない洗練された吟味と深い余韻が未知の世界へといざないます。
  • ハッピーどぶろく はみだし米 雌(2,200 円):  京大卒が醸すクラフトどぶろくで無肥料無農薬米ながらも規格外ではじかれてしまった「はみだし米」で「日本酒の一歩手前」の酒を醸す。
