Italian photographer Alessandra Maria Bonanotte travels extensively to photograph nature, culture, and people. In recent years she is especially fascinated by Japan, its nature, shrines and temples, festivals, traditional crafts, artist, and expert artisans. She is inclined to capture brilliant moments that have been inherited for a long time. In this exhibition, Japanese spirituality captured by Alessandra was expressed in the world of -MEIAN-, Japanese chiaroscuro.

Alessandra was born in 1979 in Rome, where she graduated in Natural Sciences at the University La Sapienza and studied photography. She worked as a photographer for the ONG Scuoladelsole, committed to the education of refugee children in Vienna in 2010 and she collaborated with the study Fototeca of Tokyo in 2011. Since 2012 works with the Hiro Gallery and Kyuryudo Art Publishing Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, realizing various art publications. She has photographed people, nature, cultures. Her capacity to capture the artists'beauty when they produce artworks is highly valued, as are her portraits of many great artists, including Fukumi Shimura, a living nation treasure of dyeing and weaving.
