After a blistering hot summer with temperature records being broken for weeks on end (not least in Japan) many people are wondering whether critical "tipping points" have been reached on global warming and wider areas of climate change.

Disasters associated with a changing global climate – such as hurricanes, typhoons, floods and forest fires – are proliferating across the Asia region and beyond, raising the question of whether these disasters are man-made rather than being "natural."

Is it too late to halt this seemingly inexorable chain of destruction, or are there still effective ways to reverse or at least stabilise the situation? Can the existential threat of climate change produce a globally coordinated response, and what role can Asia play in this regard.

The FCCJ has selected a panel of experts to report on progress to date in alleviating climate change and to examine solutions for the future. Do not miss this opportunity to learn more about the fate of the planet and its inhabitants.
