(The speech will be in English and Q & A will be in Japanese with English interpretation)

The Challenges Facing Tokyo in 2023; Achieving a Sustainable City

In an age of worldwide climate change, municipal leaders are facing tough questions about urban planning that will ensure a sustainable, resilient future. Tokyo Gov. Koike Yuriko's plans to meet these challenges include mandates for solar panels to be installed on new houses, zero emission vehicles and a new infrastructure for hydrogen power.

Tokyo is also working to attract green finance and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investment, and is collaborating with the city of London to become a global financial center. Join us as Gov. Koike talks about these and other plans for the city in the decades ahead.
