The US Election and the Asia-Pacific

Spooked by trade tariffs and threats to pull out US troops, countries around the world are racing to prepare for the potential return of Donald Trump to office after the presidential elections in November. Not least among them is Japan, which is reported to have dispatched former premier Taro Aso on a failed mission to try to meet the putative Republican candidate in New York last month and to be bolstering its spending on Washington lobbyists in the run-up to the election. We'll hear from Alexander Gray, a former National Security Council Chief of Staff under Trump about what to expect in terms of economic, security, energy and trade policy if he returns.
