After seven decades as a professional saxophone player and with dozens of recordings behind him, Japanese jazz legend Sadao Watanabe is still going strong at the age of 91. Affectionately known as Nabesada, Japan's most famous jazz musician has played with many musical legends including Chick Corea, Lee Ritenour and Roberta Flack. Watanabe is credited not only with raising the global profile of Japanese jazz, but also spreading his love of Brazilian music in Japan. Watanabe, who recently released a new album of ballads – "Peace" – and is scheduled to perform eight concerts in seven Japanese cities this autumn, will come to the Club to talk about his lifelong career in music and his future plans.
