Top experts in the field will give presentations and answer questions exploring the transformative potential of Web3 and AI technologies in the media industry. The goal is to provide valuable insights into how these technologies can drive innovation, enhance media operations and address the existential business-model challenges faced by the industry.
Hideto Kawasaki: Member of the House of Representatives, representing the Mie 2 constituency. Prior to his political career, Kawasaki worked for NTT DOCOMO, INC. for 11 years, gaining valuable experience in the telecommunications sector. He also served as Secretary to Kawasaki Jiro, a Member of the House of Representatives.
Sota Watanabe: Founder of Astar Network and CEO at Startale Labs, additionally, he serves as one of the directors of the Japan Blockchain Association and is advisor to Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI). He was also featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list in 2022 and has been recognized for his contributions to advancing Web3 in Japan.
Yasushi Teramura: Head of Blockchain Business at gumi Inc. He joined the company in 2018 and currently leads gumi's blockchain initiatives, mainly covering OSHI3, gaming and node operating businesses. He also has 13 years of experience in financial services through his career at the Development Bank of Japan, established by the Japanese Government.
Nobi Hayashi: IT journalist, consultant and director at Revolver Inc. He also serves as Visiting Professor at Kanazawa College of Art. He writes and talks about the latest trends on smart mobile: i.e. smartphones, tablets + related products +eco-system, social media: i.e. twitter, facebook, LINE, etc., and 3D printers.
Yuma Tanimoto: Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Crosstech. He is also the Advisory Board Member of AWAJ. With academic background from Japan and the US, he evolved from a university lecturer and creative director to an entrepreneur. His portfolio includes high-profile projects in Japan and a unique IoT venture in Rwanda.
MC Dave McCombs: President of the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan and a rewriter at NHK World-Japan. He is also the founder of Julio Platforms, a startup that provides student news media programs. From 1998 to 2021, McCombs was an editor at Bloomberg, where he oversaw coverage of Asia's largest family-dynasty companies, sports business and entertainment.
