Four years on from the Myanmar coup
On Feb. 1, 2020, Myanmar's army ousted the democratically elected government and established a military government. Four years on, the country is embroiled in a bitter civil war, with a years-long armed rebellion against the generals having escalated over the last 15 months or so.
To mark the fourth anniversary of the coup, representatives of the National Unity Government of Myanmar -- an exile government consisting of lawmakers thrown out of office – will speak at the FCCJ about the current situation in the conflict-torn nation.
Naw Hla Hla Soe is the NUG's Minister of Women, Youths, and Children Affairs, and Shwe Shwe Sein Latt is an advisory board member at Ministry of Human Rights, and Ministry of Women, Youth and Child Affairs.
