The Triennale Executive Committee presents an early introduction to the 2025 Setouchi International Art festival that opens on April 18 on the beautiful and idyllic islands on the Seto Inland Sea. Organizers share a preview event for journalists.

Held against the backdrop of difficult conflicts and climate change related disruptions affecting millions of populations, the sixth Triennale aims to make the local Japanese region of Setouchi a cultural and artistic hub in Asia. It will feature 216 groups of artists from around the world and be held on the largest scale ever..
The FCCJ event will focus on the vision of the festival as conceived by organizer Fram Kitagawa. How have islands like Teshima, once an illegal dumping ground for industrial waste, and Oshima, with its history as a leprosy isolation facility, been revitalized through this art festival? Why are offers of collaboration pouring in from Asian countries?
There will also be a talk show with Takashi Homma, a photographer involved in a project with the festival's new partner, UNHCR. Noted as one of Japan`s foremost art festivals hosting more than one million visitors globally, this year the organizers focus on expanding cooperation with Asian countries and organizations.
The Setouchi Triennale, was started in 2010 by Kagawa prefecture to expand the activities of Benesse Art Site Naoshima, which was launched in 1988 by Soichiro Fukutake, (the Honorary Advisor of Benesse Holdings, Inc / the Honorary Chairman of Fukutake Foundation) to transform the forgotten islands in Japan.

トリエンナーレ エグゼクティブ委員会は、2025年瀬戸内国際芸術祭の早期紹介を行います。
この芸術祭は、瀬戸内海の美しく牧歌的な島々で4月18日に開幕します。主催者は、ジャーナリスト向けの内覧イベントも発表する予定です。
数百万人に影響を及ぼし紛糾している紛争状態と気候変動による混乱を背景に、第6回トリエンナーレは、瀬戸内という日本のローカルな地域をアジアの文化芸術のハブにすることを目指しています。
世界各地から216組のアーティストが参加し、過去最大規模で開催されます。
FCCJのイベントでは、主催者の北川フラムが考案した芸術祭のビジョンに焦点を当てます。
かつて産業廃棄物の不法投棄地であった豊島（てしま）や、ハンセン病の隔離施設の歴史を持つ大島が、この芸術祭を通じてどのように再生されたのでしょう？
なぜアジアの国々から共同に成すプロジェクトの申し出が次々と舞い込むのでしょうか？
新しいパートナーであるUNHCRとのプロジェクトに関わる写真家のホンマタカシ氏とのトークショーも行われます。日本を代表する芸術祭の一つとして、世界中から100万人以上の訪問者を迎えるこの芸術祭は、今年、アジア諸国や組織との協力拡大に焦点を当てています。
瀬戸内トリエンナーレは、1988年に福武 總一郎（ベネッセホールディングス株式会社 名誉顧問 / 福武財団 名誉会長）によって開始されたベネッセアートサイト直島の活動を拡大するために、
2010年に香川県によって始められました。
