It's Saturday Nite Live!
Bossa Nova by Yuko & John Keyser with Mieko Tokuyama
18:30 - 21:00, April 11, 2026
Yuko (vocals) and John Keyser (guitar) are excited to play again at the FCCJ with their musical friend Mieko Tokuyama (piano) and they will focus on Bossa Nova.
Yuko first met her husband John in New York in 2000 when she had been visiting the city to experience the jazz scene, while John was working on a jazz performance Master’s degree and as a jazz guitarist. Soon after they began to perform as a duo in Greenwich Village and later in Portland, Oregon before moving to Tokyo in 2017. One of their top goals has been to provide the right blend of jazz, Bossa Nova and classic Japanese and American pop.
Mieko was born and raised in Tokyo. She started classical piano in elementary school and has performed at weddings, hotels, clubs and US military bases around Japan with jazz, chanson and J-pop singers as well as Brazilian and jazz bands.
And remember SNL is free for FCCJ members! For guests & non-members, there is a 1,000 yen music charge, an incredible bargain for Tokyo entertainment. Please note the charge will apply to all guests and non members who are in the SNL venue at any time after the commencement of the first set.
