Trash Taste and the new wave of YouTubers in Japan
What do you get when you put a Japanese-Australian computer engineer, a Thai-British electrical engineer and a Welsh-speaking mechanical engineer who all have a love of anime and things Japanese in a room together? The answer is "Trash Taste," a no-holds barred YouTube podcast on Japan. A year since it started, it averages a million views for each of its weekly broadcasts – not surprising as the trio have a total of 8 million YouTube followers for their individual channels.

Joey "The Anime Man" Bizinger, Garnt "Gigguk" Maneetapho and Connor "CDawgVA" Colquhoun are part of the new wave of young YouTube commentators on Japan and, given the freedom of the internet, they don't hold back. Trash Taste is not a polite review of their new home; raw opinions and a few profanities abound. The FCCJ will put out its own live "Trash Taste podcast" with the trio to learn more about Japan's booming pop culture (anime, manga, gaming, cosplay), and living the YouTube life in Japan.
