Former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is re-emerging as an influential voice in Japanese politics. Since leaving office, he has remained active in public diplomacy and policy, signaling a continued role in shaping debates over Japan's future direction.
Kishida, who also served as foreign minister under former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, will come to the FCCJ to discuss Japan's diplomacy and place in an increasingly uncertain global order. At a time of mounting geopolitical tensions and shifting alliances, his perspective is likely to draw keen interest both at home and abroad.
Most recently, Kishida traveled to the Philippines as a special envoy of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, meeting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and senior officials to discuss bilateral ties and regional cooperation. The visit underscored his continuing diplomatic profile even after stepping down from office.
