The speech and Q & A will be in English.

Resisting the Tatmadaw's bloody rule in Myanmar

Dr. Sasa, has become a key figure in Myanmar's "Spring Revolution" of resistance against the army's rule in Myanmar, since they seized power in a coup on Feb. 1.

Dr. Sasa is the special United Nations envoy for the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), a group of civilian lawmakers who convened a virtual parliament in the chaotic days after the coup.

Dr. Sasa, a medical doctor and a member of Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy, was elected to parliament in November and was expected to serve in the cabinet. The military, known as the Tatmadaw, has charged him with treason -- a crime that carries the death penalty.

He will speak to the FCCJ via video link from an undisclosed location.
