To capture his images, Harris has traveled across all seven continents and to over 100 countries. His work has appeared in major global media outlets - including LIFE, Vanity Fair, GEO, National Geographic Traveler, Time, and The New York Times - and has garnered numerous international awards. He has published many photography books, such as ‘Wanderlust,’ ‘Inside North Korea,’ and ‘Inside Iran,’ and his work is displayed in museums and private collections worldwide. Japan holds a special place in his long career, leading to the publication of titles including ‘The Way of the Japanese Bath’ and ‘3.11.’

Robert Whiting, who will appear at the reception, is a Tokyo-based leading authority on comparative Japanese-American culture. He received the 2023 Henry Chadwick Award - an honor bestowed upon outstanding baseball researchers - in recognition of works including ‘The Chrysanthemum and the Bat’ and his bestseller ‘You Gotta Have Wa’ (which Esquire magazine named one of the best books ever written about baseball). His latest book, ‘Gamblers, Fraudsters, Dreamers & Spies’ profiles eccentric foreigners　- from spies to gangsters to CEOs - who shaped modern Japanese society and crime.
