FCCJ & History Channel #12: Cyndi Lauper, Music Icon
Marking 15 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011, the latest collaboration between the FCCJ and History Channel features music icon Cyndi Lauper. Having landed in Japan on the very night of the disaster – after her flight was diverted from Narita to Yokota Air Base – the singer-songwriter famously chose to proceed with her concert series in a powerful show of solidarity. Reflecting on her decision at a subsequent FCCJ press conference Lauper remarked: "if I left, then, what would ‘True Colors’ have meant anyway? And how much of a healing song is that if I came singing that then I hightailed it out of here…" The FCCJ is where history is made; here's the proof!

FCCJ & ヒストリーチャンネル #12：音楽界のアイコン、シンディ・ローパー
2011年3月11日の東日本大震災から15年を迎えるにあたり、日本外国特派員協会（FCCJ）とヒストリーチャンネルの最新コラボレーションには音楽界のアイコン、シンディ・ローパーが特集される事となりました。
まさに震災が発生した当日の夜、飛行機の着陸先が成田空港から横田基地へ緊急変更されながら日本に到着する事になった シンガーソングライターは、困難な状況下での連帯を示す力強い姿勢で自身のコンサートシリーズを続行することを決めた事で有名です。
その後のFCCJ記者会見でこの決断を振り返り、ローパーはこう語っています。「もし私が日本から去っていたら『トゥルー・カラーズ』は一体何の意味があったでしょう？そんな歌を歌っておきながら、さっさと逃げ出していたら、それがどれほどの癒しの歌と言えるでしょうか…」FCCJは歴史が生まれる場所という謳い文句がありますが その証がここにあります！
