FCCJ & History Channel #6 Shintaro Ishihara: Governor of Tokyo (May 29, 2012)

The next short video created in collaboration with History Channel features Shintaro Ishihara, who appeared at the FCCJ more than a dozen times between 1977 and 2018. His first appearance was as Director-General of the Environment Agency, but he also came in his capacity as a Diet member, a best-selling author, and the President of Japan Restoration Party. Perhaps one of his more controversial appearances was in 2012, as Tokyo Governor, when he spoke about his plan to purchase the Senkaku islands, ownership of which continues to be disputed by China and Taiwan today. ヒストリーチャンネルとの共同で制作された次のショートビデオは、1977年から2018年の間にFCCJに10回以上登壇いただいた石原 慎太郎氏を特集しています。
最初は環境庁長官として、その後も国会議員、ベストセラー作家、日本維新の会代表として来訪下さいました。
なかでもとりわけ物議を醸したのが、2012年に東京都知事として登壇した会見でした。 石原氏はそこで、現在も中国と台湾が領有権を争う尖閣諸島を東京都として購入するという自身の計画について語りました。
