FCCJ & A+E Networks Collaboration
Dear Membership:
We have shared earlier the exciting news that the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan and A+E Networks (History Channel, Lifetime, Crime Investigation) are collaborating to release videos created from the FCCJ’s extensive archives of audio, photographs, and videos of its many professional and social events.
Our first joint video is being released broadly today, August 12, 2025, and with the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII, this video is centered on 2nd Lt. Hiroo Onoda, who spoke at the club in 1975, after his continued fight despite Japan's surrender for nearly 29 years in the Philippines.
Over the course of the next year, A+E Networks will release more than two videos every month as well as a documentary about the FCCJ and its historical role in telling Japan's story. A+E Networks will release these videos on its platforms in Japan and abroad, while the Club will post on our social media platforms, FCCJ website and YouTube channel. If you have the opportunity and inclination, please share these videos. This will promote the Club, tell a story tended over eight decades, and spark new membership. The FCCJ is where history is made; here's the proof.

FCCJとA+E Networksのコラボレーション
私たちは以前、日本外国特派員協会（FCCJ）とA+E Networks （History Channel、Lifetime、Crime Investigation）がお互いに協力し、FCCJの豊富なアーカイブから作成された動画（音声、写真も含む）をリリースする衝撃的なニュースを発表いたしました。（プレスリリースリンクをご参照ください）
そして最初の共同で作成した動画が、今年、第二次世界大戦後80周年を迎え、8月12日に広く公の媒体に公開されます。この動画は、1975年にクラブの記者会見で講演を行った旧陸軍少尉、小野田寛郎氏に焦点を当てたものです。小野田氏は、第二次世界大戦争後もフィリピンのジャングルに潜み、戦後29年目に元上官の作戦終了の言葉により日本に帰国いたしました。
今後1年間、A+E Networksは毎月2本以上の動画を公開するほか、FCCJと日本の戦後からの激動の歴史を伝える役割をテーマにしたドキュメンタリーもリリースする予定です。A+E Networksはこれらの動画を日本国内外のプラットフォームで公開し、クラブは協会のソーシャルメディアプラットフォーム、FCCJウェブサイト、FCCJ YouTubeチャンネルに公開いたします。ご機会とご興味があれば、これらの動画をご覧ください。
これにより、クラブの大いなる宣伝となり、80年以上にわたって育まれてきた物語そして真実を伝え、新たな会員の加入を促すことができます。FCCJは歴史が作られる場所です、これがその証となることでしょう。
